In reality, the Megalith Corporation functions as a front for the modern remnants of the Council of Darkness, and serves as a foundation for their plans for eventual hegemony of the universe.

They are also the progenitors of the Zenith Project, which creates the Genotypes and the eventual Zenith Imperium.

Their future time travelling descendents are the powerful MEGAS Consortium.
