Localized Reality Control Fields

The extraordinary technology responsible for advanced Time Travel and Spacetime Reality Manipulation is often referred to as a Localized Reality Control Field.

The LRCF technology works primarily by manipulating Spacetime such that a region of three-dimensional space temporarily exists in two or more time dimensions.

Theory

Normally Spacetime consists of three spatial and one time dimension. However, Local Quantum Relativity allows temporary folds in Spacetime to encapsulate unstable regions of arbitrary dimensions. These regions are often exceedingly hostile to matter, and as such were first used in “Reality Distortion” weapons that took advantage of the fact that increasing the number of spatial dimensions in an area to four or more would instantaneously cause all atomic nuclei to destabilize and unravel. Reducing the number of spatial dimensions to less than three similarly causes matter to collapse, as gravity ceases to function and the space collapses. Interestingly, at one spatial dimension and three temporal dimensions, all matter becomes Tachyons, which may hold the key to time travel proper…

Pocket Dimensions

More useful however, is increasing the time dimensions to above one. This has the unique property of creating ultrahyperbolic regions of Spacetime that can violate causation. How this appears in the real world is as if a second reality were created in a temporary bubble or field, in which two or more timelines would co-exist, one being the normal reality timeline, and the other being a hyper-reality that ceases to exist after the field is dissipated. Because one time dimension is real while the other is hyper-real, the hyper-real dimension is usually seen to fold into a point in the real timeline, so such fields appear outside of locality as mere instants, even if time as observed within the locality takes on the appearance of an extended period of time. This is functionally equivalent to expending energy to create time.

Effects

Because significant amounts of gravitational effects are normally dispersed into folded dimensions, unfolding them often yields substantial Cherenkov radiation emitted due to the massive surge of neutrinos.

The area outside of a hypothetical perfect localized time dilation field, when viewed from inside the field appears like a perfectly reflecting surface, and if a field’s contours trace an object, one sees a silhouette made of perfectly reflective material. This is the separator between zones, and removing the separator will instead show pitch black as light that leaves the field does not reflect back. This is the difference between silver stasis and black stasis. In such a condition, manipulation of such objects from within the field is impossible, but whereas in silver stasis the objects are protected, in black stasis everything absorbed by the blackness will suddenly appear when the stasis ends. Partial interference in an imperfect field will cause objects to instead appear to emit very red-shifted light (which gives the whole area a dark reddish hue, a blue sky looks like a redder sunset, etc.), and objects in this case can be interacted with. Objects inside the field, when viewed from outside, appear blue-shifted and can move at seemingly relativistic speeds. Objects may also appear blue due to Cherenkov radiation emitted due to the massive surge of neutrinos required to maintain the field (the neutral current interaction pushes some electrons to relativistic speeds).

Mechanism

Generating the fold itself is easy enough, as the extra temporal dimension can be formed by inputting spatiotemporal energy into the region. As any spatiotemporal energy field must be balanced by collapsing into a physical energy pulse, the fold exists only for an instant on the global timeline. However, the amount of energy in the spatiotemporal energy burst determines the duration of time inside the fold.

Controlling these temporary Spacetime folds requires the use of an Information-Reality Programming Interface that directly manipulates the informational metastructure of the Universe, locally reprogramming the laws of physics within a certain volume. This allows the interface to manipulate and direct probabilistic effects within this zone, and so generate a force matrix of virtual particles that interact with local reality at a quantum level. Energy input to the matrix can convert the virtual particles into real matter, which can be sculpted by the force matrix according to a quantum parallel computer that calculates in real time the necessary application of forces to generate the desired forms in the physical region.

World Field

The Mind Activated Global Interaction Command System (MAGICS) is a unique example of the use of a Localized Reality Control Field at a planetary scale. This system is maintained by the General Operations Directive (GOD), and its subordinate artificial intelligences. Any user within the system can interface directly or through any number of intermediary AI entities (spirits) that inhabit the system.

Hyper-Dimensional Spatiotemporal Warping Technology

(Ships utilizing this technology are often known as Spacebreakers, Timebreakers, or Lightbreakers)

Type 1 Hyperwarp is the phenomenon of creating a field, moving to its edge, collapsing it, and then repeating, which will allow the appearance of faster than light travel to outsiders, but not to those inside who must endure the extra time. They effectively pay a time cost that the rest of the universe doesn’t. This allows for robot probes, or long lived species to travel to an area of space to plant a jump gate.

Type 2 Hyperwarp involves placing a local stasis field inside a local reality control field. This allows for living organisms of normal life spans to survive the trip, and makes it possible.

Type 3 Hyperwarp involves manipulating the Local Region’s physics such that the speed of light is higher, making it is possible to travel much faster than normally allowed. In combination with the method of Type 1 Hyperwarp, this can allow actual rapid traversal of space without the time cost.
